Before getting their first taste of the year’s watchmaking gold, both consumers and critics would have to patiently wait for SIHH and Baselworld.

But since the epidemic, along with Baselworld’s demise, this particular guideline has been figuratively thrown out the window.

Yes, Watches & Wonders continues to be a focus for many brands, particularly those like Patek Philippe and Rolex. However, it’s obvious that this year brands are not holding back from just the first two weeks of 2023.

Every important launch that occurs will be covered in this page as it happens. Therefore, bookmark our page if you enjoy fine timepieces, and we’ll see you back here soon.

It receives a major upgrade this year.

The titanium case-back with DLC treatment comes first, followed by a rose gold case middle. This contrasts with a bezel and crown made of black ceramic. It is a marvel of two-tone finishing, switching between satin-brushed and polished surfaces.

When you combine the two, you get a watch that Action Man would be pleased with.

With its skeletonized build and limited edition of 200 pieces, the new Submersible S BRABUS Verde Militare Edition is water-resistant to 300 meters.

This monochromatic masterpiece pairs a black ceramic casing with a black Petite Tapisserie dial.

It is driven by the Calibre 4404, an integrated chronograph movement with a flyback feature from Audemars Piguet.

A limited-edition watch series also exists, with one watch for each country. Speaking of hedging your bets,

We’re willing to put our country before ourselves and declare that the Chronomat made in England is the best.

Each watch is limited to 150 pieces.

Breitling created this Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Boeing 747 Limited Edition as a tribute to the Queen of the Skies.

The dial’s color scheme is reminiscent of the Jumbo Jet’s 1968 original, which had a cream face with black subdials and a red-and-white slide rule with blue accents. The slide rule’s inner scale also incorporates the name “Boeing 747.”

This steel design features the raciest color scheme to date: a dial with a silver tone, a sunburst satin finish, black counters, a flange with a black velvet finish, and markings and hands made of 18K white gold.

To match your mood and your attire, the watch also comes with three tool-free interchangeable steel, calf leather, and rubber bracelets and straps.

Code 11.59, which was previously exclusively available in precious metals and later with some incorporated ceramic, now has six new stainless steel references from which to choose, both in Selfwinding and Selfwinding Chronograph configurations.

The newly stamped dial, though, may be more intriguing than the material. The new design, which was created especially for the occasion, consists of concentric circles that produce a distinctive ripple effect. Hundreds of tiny holes that interact with the light beautify the dial’s wave-like pattern that extends from the center.

Who said beige was boring? Our favorite is this variant, which blends steel with black ceramic.

The lake is close to the factory where the Shinshu watches are created.

It is driven by the robust 120-hour power reserve of the Spring Drive calibre 9RA2.

In the year 2023, the company has released a timeless masterpiece in its honor.

The domed soft-sunray dial of the Chemin des Tourelles is covered by a vintage-style domed sapphire crystal. Curved and gently faceted slim hour markings contribute to the depth of the clock.

Its first design for 2023 pays homage to the 1960 debut of the Grand Seiko.

It honors the intricate watchmaking techniques and regional Japanese artisan workmanship used to make that watch and each subsequent model.

Each dial is made by Grand Seiko’s master lacquer worker, Isshu Tamura, using the 380-year-old Kanazawa art of Kaga maki-e. The Urushi lacquer dial is painstakingly polished to a mirror-like appearance after being applied in layers.

Seiko has unveiled a new Presage that pays honor to the watch’s 110th birthday.

The piece is updated with a contemporary automatic movement within, although the case form, arabic numerals, enamel dial, and even the enormous onion crown are exact replicas of the original.

Limited edition of 2,500 pieces.

The Ultra-Complication Universelle RD#4 is the most complicated watch AP has ever created. It features an astounding 40 functions, 23 complications, and 17 unique ‘technical devices,’ which the company claims will be the foundation of new movements for years to come. It is a part of the Code 11.59 collection.

The fact that the Universelle is put together from more than 1,100 components and yet still fits on a 42mm wide wristwatch with a slim-enough depth of 15.55mm may be the most amazing achievement of microengineering.

In a limited edition of 999 pieces, Hamilton has developed a spinning, double-sided case with a semi-skeleton layout for considerably less than £3,000.

One face of the double-sided dial operates as a timepiece and a chronograph, while the other contains measurement scales and an exhibition mechanism.

The term “Sapphire Aluminium oXide and rare Earth Mineral,” or Saxem, was originally created for satellites but was later appropriated by Hublot for watches. It will be a rare sighting in the wild and is only available in a limited edition of 50 pieces, but you won’t want to miss it.

The various finishes, which combine polished, satin-brushed, and matte surfaces, emphasize the watch’s depth.

However, although having a futuristic feel, its distinctive octagonal geometry pays homage to the early DEFY models of the 1960s.

You’re too, um, jumbo for standard jumbo. Don’t worry; AP has you covered with its most recent Extra-Thin Royal Oak watch in white gold. It also comes with a dial that has a wonderfully textured blue grained finish. We want to scratch the sapphire crystal, so it’s a shame that it’s in the way.

The Calibre 7121, the most recent ultra-thin movement, which was released in January 2022 in celebration of the Royal Oak’s 50th anniversary, powers this limited edition. The restricted-edition watch has a white gold case and will only be sold at Audemars Piguet shops.
